About Me

Eric Mikkelsen

I grew up farming and ranching on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana and my free time was spent exploring the mountains, lakes, and rivers in some of the most beautiful and untamed country of the US.

I still love being outside when I can and I volunteer as a wilderness first responder with search and rescue/swift water rescue, and am also on National Ski Patrol. When not patrolling in the winter and time permits, I enjoy resto-modding vintage vehicles as well as escaping to the solitude of skiing in the backcountry on homemade wooden skis. In the summer months I enjoy the open road on a vintage motorcycle or rafting on our numerous rivers of the West with my wife and kids. Above all, I enjoy being a dad.

Professionally, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, certified in EMDR, as well as in Nutrition for Mental Health. I am trained in CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Systems Theory, and many other therapy models. I have made this my art, which I have been continuing to develop, practice, and hone for the last 23 years.

I started on this path 33 years ago…I was in the 7th grade. I noticed that teachers were people of influence…that they were in a position to make real impact in the lives of others. I wanted to make that kind of impact. I love being able to now bring that impact to those who are working with our children. To bring massive value to those who are impacting others is imensly rewarding.
